What is Social Distancing

Social distancing, also called physical distancing, is a form of non-pharmaceutical intervention, which downtrends the spread of contagious diseases simply by keeping people “apart” from each other.

Why social distancing is important?

It prevents contact between infected and uninfected individuals, resulting in reduced disease transmission and less deaths from fatal diseases.

Self/Home Quarantine

 Stay home. Only go out if it’s very essential, that too with protection (gloves, masks, sanitizers)

Avoid public gatherings

Avoid public gatherings as much as possible. Keep spots susceptible to mass gatherings like parks, malls, food courts, restaurants and schools closed. Restaurants can be instructed to follow a “Takeaway” only system until the situation relaxes

Mantain social distancing

Maintain a distance of at least 1 – 2 meters from other individuals

Avoid shaking hands

Avoid shaking hands and embracing one another.
